FAQs

What is counselling?

This is a common question and this article answers it really well:

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a completely natural state of mind. There is absolutely nothing strange or mysterious about it and is completely safe and nobody can be made to say or do anything under hypnosis that they wouldn’t say or do in a waking state.

What is well-being coaching?

It helps you reduce the impact stress has on your body, understand nutrition, and increase energy and vitality to become the best version of yourself possible.

Will my sessions be confidential?

YES! As a member of the BACP, I adhere to their ethical framework. At times there can be a few legal reasons that would require me to break client confidentiality but these will be discussed at the first session and information will be provided in writing via the counselling agreement.

What is the BACP and why is it important?

British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) is a professional body and registered charity that sets standards for therapeutic practice and provides information for therapists, clients of the therapy and the public. To be registered member of the BACP a minimum standard of proficiency is required. BACP also requires all members to have regular supervision. More information can be found on the BACP website:

How many sessions will I need?

This can vary and is depending on what you wish to bring to therapy and what your goals are. We will discuss this at your first session and can review progress on a regular basis.

What issues can I bring?

Whatever you feel is necessary. This could be specific issue or a general feeling of something not being right. Counselling may help. To give an idea here are some of the things I have worked with previously: ADHD, anxiety, addictions, abuse, bereavement/loss, trauma and childhood trauma, low self-esteem, guilt, shame, relationship problems, fears & phobias, stress.
